«I Am Between» by G. Rich vs. Popshop is finally available digitally (Spotify, Bandcamp, etc.) — originally released in 1997 on Poetenpop Records (POP 001) as a limited 12″ vinyl, now considered a collector’s item on Discogs.
One highlight: «Come To Me», first aired in 1997 on Swiss Radio DRS 3 in the cult show Sounds. Another standout: «Down In The Daylight» — a dark, sample-synth-based trip-hop track with a Depeche Mode-style hookline sung by myself (G. Rich) — the one they never wrote.
The album moves between Electronica, IDM, Electro-Jazz, Dark Wave, and even features “Pop und Poesie”, a spoken-word track with futuristic ambient textures by Dan Piu. All music and lyrics are written and produced by Martin Akeret.
